List of Zoos and Museums to Visit Virtually

When you do not have the opportunity to learn in person, take a virtual field trip. Go for an adventure without leaving the house, hotel or school.  We found a few zoos and museums you can visit virtually.

The Zoos:

  • San Diego Zoo

    • Check out the Live Cams at the San Diego Zoo in California. You can watch hippos, platypus, baboons, penguins, tigers, and MORE!
  • Zoo Atlanta

    • Go across the country and check out the famous Panda cam in Atlanta Georgia! You also have the chance to keep up with the fun panda news.
  • Monterey Bay Aquarium

    • Watch the Sea Otters play in the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Make sure to tune in during their feeding times to watch the otters do tricks. YOu can even meet the otters and learn more about their stories.
  • Georgia Aquarium

    • Take a swim without getting wet at the Georgia aquarium. Visit the Indo-Pacific Barrier Reef, watch the Gators bask, or stay far away from the piranhas, but still watch them in awe. Pick out your favorite fish in each tank!

  • The Louvre

    • The Louvre is the world’s largest art museum and you can visit it for free, online. In Paris, France, the Louvre, started as a castle and became a museum in 1793. With so many different pieces of art on display, you can learn alot about people of the past.
  • The Vatican

    • Take a virtual tour of one of the most gorgeously painted cities in the world. Pretend you’re wondering the halls of the Sistine Chapel, where the pope has official residence. While you look in awe, check out these 10 things you may not have known about the Vatican.
  • Smithsonian

    • Visit the world famous Smithsonian Museum of Natural History! This virtual tour feels like you’re walking through the halls. Learn about the ancient creatures that used to walk the Earth or even create your own scavenger hunt for fossils.
  • Metropolitan Museum of Art

    •  “The Met” is the largest art museum in the United States and one of the most visited in the world. With so many different time periods and styles of art, you can spend hours admiring the pieces.
  • The State Hermitage Museum

    • Go to Russia without leaving your home! The State Hermitage is a museum of art and culture with a rich history. It was founded in 1764 when Empress Catherine the Great received a collection of paintings from a Berlin man.  With a makeup of 6 buildings, you can explore the history of Russia and more!
